
The latest feather in Radium Management’s cap was being in charge of event management at Rupantaran 2025, the recently held anniversary celebration of one of the oldest and successful government organizations in the nation, Damodar Valley Corporation.
With pride and pleasure, we present to you in this blog an outline of what happened at the grand 78th Anniversary celebration of DVC that is headquartered in Kolkata.
The Damodar Valley Corporation or DVC as it is more popularly known, put up a spectacular celebration of its 78th Anniversary at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata on July 07, 2025. And why not? 78 years is an incredibly long time in the journey of any organization. It is a journey that DVC has travelled empowering the nation in the truest sense with its network of dams and plants that provide thermal and hydro and more recently, solar energy as well.

Rupantaran 2025, as the event is named, saw the top brass of DVC and employees of various departments assemble along with their families and friends for a celebration of their beloved organization turning a year older. In the state-of-the art Kolkata auditorium it was an exciting evening of dance, music, awards, and felicitation of deserving employees.

Popular singer Monali Thakur wowed the audience with her melodious voice belting out her many Bollywood and Bangla hits. There were sleekly-choreographed dances featuring dance groups performing to foot-tapping regional numbers that vividly brought alive the essence and flavour of the Eastern region where DVC’s dams and plants are situated.


There was a book release, ‘Framing the Valley’, by the Chairman Sri S. Suresh Kumar, IAS, along with the leadership of DVC. The event was timed with the release of the newest edition of DVC’s house journal as well. Awards were given away to best performing plants and employees.
Altogether, Rupantaran 2025 was a memorable evening that felicitated a new milestone in Damodar Valley Corporation’s power to progress journey.
Spread over West Bengal and Jharkhand, this statutory government body promotes innovation and sustainable practices in keeping up with the times. DVC was founded on July 07,1948 soon after the nation gained independence. Today, with Sri. S. Suresh Kumar, IAS at the helm as Chairman, this organization under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has a whopping 5000+ employees in various roles at different locations.
